Catch/Spay/Release

Primarily for feral cats, generally will not adapt to a normal home environment, having been in the "wild" too long. Spay/neuter stops the cycle of multiple pregnancies and hundreds of kittens over a cat's lifetime.

Rehab

More often than not cats who have been "dumped" need some veterinary care before going to their new family. Sometimes from other wild animals, or possibly from neglect, we see to the shots/rehab/chips Necessary for a healthy Pet, including FIV testing.

Re-Home

The ultimate reward from our rescue is to see cats being re-homed. Each one of Gods little ones deserves to have the love they have to give returned by a warm, loving family in a safe environment.

How we can help Cats To Survive

Jones Loving Paws Rescue, Inc., is an IRS 501-C-3 non-profit. All contributions are tax deductible. For the last 4 years the rescue has been self-funded, with small but increasing number of donations. While we hope for an “angel” supporter (or several please) we are extremely grateful for the donors we have. Every $5/$10/$20/$50 donation allows us to pay our food, litter and Vet bills while our founders continue to search for grants and large donors.

About Wondor

Why Loving Paws Rescue?

Our history gives it away. After spending time at another rescue, Kim decided to open her own. From our original few rescues ( we still have Oscar and Oliver in residence) to a frantic call from the “Kill shelter” stating, “ We have two  moms and 9 kittens that will be killed tomorrow if not adopted”, our rescue was born about 4 years ago.

The rest is history.Having placed numerous rescues in homes, we currently have a large “inventory” of furry residents occupying our home, and all ready to be adopted.   Each has its own personality, and most are adapted to other multiple cat homes if that is a concern.  Our aim is to be sure each is suited to and will receive loving care at the new home.

why we’re good

Why choose our cats?

All our cats are “new parent ready”, meaning that for the right home they can be adoptedtoday!
All our cats are “chipped” so if lost or run away for some reason, the owner can be found by checking with any Vet who can read the chip for owner contact info.
Our cats are well behaved! They know what the litter box is for, as most have indoor history, and have lived with other cats in a home environment, not a cage.
Our cats are well fed and have fresh water daily.
All necessary shots are current, and we provide documents for proof.

What should I consider before adopting a cat?

Before adopting, consider your lifestyle, time commitment, budget, and whether your home is pet-friendly. Cats need regular feeding, vet care, affection, and stimulation. It’s also important to think about whether you want a kitten or an older cat, as their needs can differ.

How do I help my new cat adjust to their new home?

Start by giving your cat a quiet, safe space to explore at their own pace. Provide fresh food, water, a litter box, and comfortable bedding. Be patient—some cats may take a few days or weeks to feel fully comfortable. Use soft voices and gentle movements to build trust.

What are the basic care needs for a cat?

Cats need a balanced diet, fresh water, clean litter boxes, regular grooming (especially long-haired breeds), toys for mental stimulation, and yearly vet checkups. Keeping their environment clean and stress-free also helps support overall health.

Should I spay or neuter my cat?

Yes, spaying or neutering helps prevent unwanted litters, reduces the risk of certain health issues, and can improve behavior. It also contributes to controlling the pet population and reducing the number of homeless animals

Cats Need...

Just like humans, cats have needs that a shelter/rescue attempts to accommodate within their abilities. The basics are:

Food:
Cats are picky, but in the wild not so much so. Sometimes its obvious that starvation is more an issue than other safety issues.

Shelter:
The ability to feel safe in their current environment.

Medical Care:
Medical Care Often “rescued” animals have been englected by previous owners and could have injuries or illness rescues have to treat.Sometimes parasites can be attacking the animal from within.

Grooming:
This may seem an insignificant issue, but many long-haired cats can get skin disorders from lack of grooming including fleas and mats in the hair.

Human Interaction:
For cats that have grown up in a human environment, they long for that relationship and trust. However, the longer they are “in the wild” having been “dumped”, abused, or left alone outside when not used to life outdoors, they become more feral and less trusting of humans, making them more difficult if not impossible to re-home.
